What's the Secret Ingredient for a Delicious Spaghetti Sauce?

It seems as though we've been posting a lot of Mexican dishes lately. Let's add some Italiano to the mix! Below is a popular recipe for delicious spaghetti sauce. It is an investment of your time, but we assure you that it will be well worth it. 

Olde Bill's 2 Hour & 7 MInute Spaghetti Sauce

(Serves 8) 

1 pound extra-lean ground beef 1 pound pork tenderloin, cut into 1/4 inch cubes  6 green onions, chopped 2 ribs celery, diced 1 large green bell pepper, diced 3 14 1/2 ounce cans whole tomatoes, undrained 6 ounce can tomato paste 2 6-ounce cans water 1/3 cup Antonio's Italian Spice Blend 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced 4 cloves garlic, minced 1 teaspoon coarse black pepper  3 teaspoons brandy (optional but highly recommended)1 3/4 teaspoons salt (to taste)

Lightly brown beef and pork in a dutch oven. Add onions, celery, and bell pepper. Continue cooking until vegetables are tender. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, add tomatoes and squeeze them through your fingers so there are no large pieces, stir into meat mixture. Add tomato paste, water, and Antonio's Italian Spice Blend, stir often until mixture thickens over medium heat. Add mushrooms, garlic, black pepper, brandy, and salt. Lower heat until you can just see bubbles break the surface and continue cooking with pot uncovered (2 hours and 7 moniutes ), stirring occassionally.
