Cattlemen’s Choice Beef Stew
1 pound roast beef, well-trimmed, cut into ½ inch cubes
2 tablespoons oil, divided
2 tablespoons flour
3 cups water
6 tablespoons Olde Westport Cattlemen's Choice Beef Sauce Blend
2 medium potatoes, peeled, cut into ½ inch cubes
2 ribs celery, sliced
3 carrots, sliced
1 small onion, chopped (1 cup)
3 cloves garlic, diced (1/2 teaspoon granulated)
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon tabasco sauce
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
8 ounces fresh asparagus, cut into 1 inch slices
½ teaspoon black pepper
salt to taste
In a heavy 4 quart saucepan, brown cubed meat in 1 tablespoon oil over medium-high heat. Add remaining tablespoons oil and flour to beef, stirring until smooth. Blend water and Olde Westport Cattlemen's Choice Beef Sauce Blend, slowly add mixture to beef, while stirring, until thickened. Add remaining ingredients and simmer covered over low heat until vegetables are cooked to your liking (adjust thickness with water if necessary), stirring occasionally to avoid sticking. Salt to taste.
