Check Out This Sausage Recipe with a Cajun Twist!

Our delicious Smoky Sausage and Pasta in a Creamy Cajun Sauce is a unique recipe that we love. The creamy sauce has a cooling effect on the cajun spices and the smoky sausage! Follow our recipe for a delicious meal that serve 4.

Smoky Sausage and Pasta in a Creamy Cajun Sauce

  • 6 ounces veggie-colored rotini (corkscrew) pasta (2 cups)
  • 3/4 cup (regular or low-fat) sour cream (not fat-free)
  • 1/4 cup (regular or low-fat) mayonnaise (not salad dressing)
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons Olde Westport Sizzlin' Sunset Cajun Spice Blend, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, coarsely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 small green and red bell pepper, coarsely chopped
  • 8 ounces well-smoked sausage, cut crosswire into 1/4 inch pieces
  • 2 medium tomatoes, cut into eight pieces

Cook pasta to package directions using no oil or salt, drain well, set aside. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, blend sour cream, mayonnaise and Olde Westport Sizzlin' Sunset Cajun Spice Blend, set aside. Heat oil in a 12-inch nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion, garlic and both bell peppers, saute 2 minutes. Add smoked sausage and cooked pasta, saute 2 to 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated through, add tomatoes, toss. Remove from heat, add sour cream, toss to mix. Return briefly to heat if necessary, don't boil. Spoon onto individual serving plates, sprinkle with additional Olde Westport Sizzlin' Sunset Cajun Spice Blend if desired.
